The challenge
The client wanted to build a community marketplace similar to Kijiji, where users could create accounts, post advertisements, and connect with other users. Because the platform handles personal information, security and privacy were critical. We also needed to design a system for managing thousands of listings efficiently, from categorization and approval to automatic removal of inactive content.
Our approach
We developed the platform in phases, building the foundation first and then adding advanced features and automation. The project included secure user authentication, account and personal-information protection, structured ad categories, and an automated listing approval workflow. We also designed rules for managing inactive users and expired advertisements, allowing listings to be automatically removed or archived based on predefined conditions.
The result
A secure and scalable online marketplace with automated processes that reduce administrative work and improve the experience for both users and administrators. The phased development approach allowed the platform to evolve while maintaining security and reliability.
